Hello, friends. I hope you had a great weekend. :)
My weekend was pretty productive. I don't know if I've mentioned to you all. But three months ago, I moved in with my boyfriend in his two-storey traditional twelve year old house that I think is very beautiful. It's not a perfect house and it definitely needs a little 'tweaking'. Anyway, since I've lived with Dan we've just been constantly making changes to "our house" (he prefers me to call it that way rather than "his house", lol)as far as decor, re-arranging the furniture, adding stuff in it, etcetera. He's loved the "woman's touch" and has been very grateful for all my new input to the house. By the way, we also have a Shih Tzu dog named Gibson who's so adorable but one that still needs potty training and all. Lately, he's been spending a lot of time in our patio and has left some you-know-what odor there no matter how much we clean up. So last Friday I told Dan that the next day Saturday will have to be spent on cleaning the house- especially our patio and garage to get rid of the odor and do some organizing. It was a great weekend plan. Now the patio is all clean, nice, and smelling good! I didn't enroll in an Organizational development program but I can tell you, I did a pretty good job organizing stuff around the house. ;) The garage is still so-so as far as the organization part, but we definitely got rid of so much junk and dust that's probably been sitting there for about three years or so. Take note that before I moved in to the house, only him and his twelve year old son lives there. My boyfriend is a busy business guy who doesn't have a lot of time in his hands to clean his house full force. So anyway, after we did our thorough cleaning this weekend, the patio, garage and even the basement look so much better! :)
Dan and were both so proud of ourselves being so productive. So yesterday afternoon, he told me out of the blue that we should go to Charlestown Races and Slots just for fun. And since we were both "kid-free", it was the perfect time to go there. The last time we did the slots was when we were on our vacation in the Bahamas last May. We had fun with it. I'll tell you honestly, those can get addicting if you're not cautious, lol. But no, Dan and I just plays for fun. I don't think we'll ever become casino/slots addicts, lol.
Anyway, we drove for about 1.5 hours to Charlestown, betted total $60 on the slots and came home with $138 cash. Not bad, huh? It was my first time being in that place so I was a little disappointed when we didn't see the horse racing. We got there too late- about 9 PM- so all the races were done for the day. That could have been fun. Anyway, I'm sure it won't be our first time there. The slots are fun to do and I'm sure the horse racing will be a sight to see the next time we go there. We weren't in bed 'til a little past 2AM this morning, so right now I am still feeling a bit dizzy from lack of good shut-eye. :)
That's how my weekend went. How was yours? I'd love to know! :)

Flight Disaster That Ended In Beautiful Cozumel Island |
So Friday morning, me and my better half left Virginia for our Valentine weekend vacation to The Bahamas. Well, sadly it didn't happen. When we checked in from Charlotte, NC for our connecting flight to The Bahamas, we were told our US Airways flight was oversold and fifteen of us passengers didn't get seats at all. In short, we were told we can't make it to our destination. Imagine the pain and disappointment that caused us all? I can't even begin to tell you how upset we were. I cried. I just couldn't believe it was happening to us. We bought our tickets the first week of January. It just wasn't fair.. we felt cheated and very humiliated about it.
Anyway, to make the long story short, we had to make a quick decision to go somewhere else and make use of our "rare" time to go away. We agreed it has to be a beautiful island and not too far from Charlotte, NC where we were.

So we ended up going to Cozumel- a beautiful white beach island in the Mexican Carribean. The only thing was that we had to wait for the next flight To Cozumel which was the next morning. So we ended up staying one night in Charlotte (with free hotel and meals). Not the best situation since we only had 3 days for the whole trip, but well.. it was better than going home and going nowhere at all.
All in all, we still had a wonderful Valentine's Day vacation. We lost one day of beach and sight-seeing enjoyment, but it was still a very unforgettable and very relaxing vacation. Cozumel is really beautiful- white sand beach, clear blue ocean, great Mexican food and yummy cocktail drinks! I loved the Intercontinental Presidente Hotel Cozumel where we stayed at. The room was very luxurious and had a fantastic oceanfront view complete with all the amenities you can imagine. I almost wished we never left, LOL. We were only there less than 2 days (too short!). So in a few months, we're planning to still go to The Bahamas. Hopefully we'll find good flight tickets on sale. And this time we'll make sure we have seat number assignments for our flight before we leave the house. Hard lesson learned.

My Sister Lourdes And My Upcoming Trip |
My younger sister Lourdes came to visit here in the US since September last year. She stayed with me in Virginia for about two weeks and then went to New York City to stay with a friend who needed help managing her jewelry business.
Anyway, my sister loves New York City. She likes the fast-paced everyday life and she told me the shopping there is just great. Indeed.. a city that never sleeps. The whole time she was there she did a lot of sight-seeing and took tons of photos of herself and her friends. The recent photos she showed me were the ones where she and her friends stayed in a nice New York City hotel. I was a little envious. I wish I had the luxury of time like she does.
So this coming Friday she is coming back to Virginia to get ready for her trip back to the Philippines. She will also be helping me out with the kids while I go take my leisurely weekend getaway to beautiful and sunny Bahamas in the Carribean Island. Think white sand beach, sparkling blue ocean, beautiful hotel room accommodation..aahhh. I just can't wait! :)
Isn't it time I go do something really, really nice for myself? Well, for me that will be on Valentine's Day weekend. Go figure. ;)

My Weekend |
This is the last weekend before Christmas and honestly, I am still catching up on my card-sending and gift-shopping. So tonight I will sneak out and shop for the last few things I need, wrap the gifts up when the kids are asleep, and I should be good to go.
Today will just be finishing up with laundry and chores around the house, responding to emails, and maybe write a couple more reviews for Hip Mama's Place. Ugh. Some days I wish I have more time, or that I have four hands, or that there are 48 hours in a day.
Tomorrow is a new week, and both my boys are still a little bit weak from the flu. Thank God Joe stays home tomorrow. He can take care of the boys and I can go to work with my peace of mind. Hopefully Tuesday is so much better. I will be off work Christmas Day and will work only 6 hours the day after Christmas so this week wouldn't be that long at work.
So how was your weekend? And how will your new week look like?

How Was Your Weekend? |

Mine was nice.
Saturday we just chilled out at the house in the morning. I had to finish up some of the chores. Then in the afternoon, we went for a drive and checked out the new neighborhoods. It was fun just checking out new and old houses, roads, driving down hills. Virginia is really beautiful this time of the year. The colors of the trees and the drive up and down little hills and slopes are simply breath-taking.
So Sunday we went to the gym to workout. I was on the treadmill for half an hour then on the stair climber for twenty minutes then went into the hot sauna. On my way to the women's dressing room I overheard some women talking about exercise and diet pills and Hydroxycut hardcore. Anyway, they were very friendly and stopped to talk and said hello. After I got out of the hot sauna, my body and skin felt tight and refreshed. I was sweating it out and I felt like my pores were really cleansed. A nice shower afterwards did it all!
So how was your weekend, folks? Hope it was good as well.

How Was Your Weekend? |
Saturday: We took our little guys to have a swim at our community pool. Gabriel our 3 year old didn't seem to mind going into the pool as much anymore- thank God! He had a blast playing with his daddy, his little brother, and the other kids in the pool. This is good, as I am planning to enroll him in swimming class when we come back from our vacation in the Philippines. Not sure though about doing it in the winter- might be too cold. But I definitely want him to learn to swim when he's three years old- his birthday is coming up on July 3rd but we're celebrating it in the Philippines with our family there- yayyy! (can't wait!). :)
Sunday: A relaxed day. Nobody called to want to see the house so we decided to go to the mall so our little guys can have some playtime at the mall playground. They both had fun! While my three boys were at the playground, I went and bought me my favorite facial sunscreen for the summer- Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection SPF 55- to take with me to my trip to hot weather home Philippines! :)

My Weekend |
It's hard to believe it's almost Monday morning. The weekend went by so quick!
This weekend was spent like the past few weekends- cleaning the house, boxing things up for the move and packing for our upcoming big trip.
Saturday afternoon DH and I agreed to keep one kid each- so I can go shopping easier with just one baby in tow. So I went with my little one Jaden to the mall with me and spent most of the afternoon shopping for him and his brother, and for myself- mostly for things I wanted for the trip.
Well, I splurged a bit for myself too and bought this beautiful designer Linea Pelle Innue Italian Leather brown tote bag at Marshall's (famous discount store for designer fashion). Wow, this purse is just what I've been looking for- classy-looking bag in rich, soft and shiny brown leather, with lots of pockets and spaces for anything.
And the style is definitely very in at the moment- I even saw this purse style on Vanessa Hudgens and Lauren Conrad on a fashion mag recently. So I was happy about this latest find- just perfect for travel and everyday use! (Hint: I paid like $97 and some change for it, including tax. I did good, considering the MSRP was like $269!).
Oh, sorry I didn't mean to brag about my shopping escapade. But sometimes, a girl's just gotta have what she wants! ;)
Sunday we didn't do much- just stayed home, work around the house, and then treated ourselves with Chinese food delivery for dinner. :)
So how was your weekend, by the way?
