Young, Talented Actor Heath Ledger Dead At 28

This very sad news came to me as a shock yesterday, as I am a big Heath Ledger fan.

I've seen him in several movies, but the most memorable one I can remember is one of him playing Mel Gibson's brave eldest son Gabriel (incidentally my eldest son's name also) on the big hit "The Patriot". I haven't seen the controversial "Brokeback Mountain" but critics say it is one of the best movies of the year 2005. Now a new sequel to Batman, "The Dark Knight" is being released this summer, and he will be playing "The Joker". Tsk, tsk. Too bad he's not gonna be around to see it being a big hit, as I'm sure it will be when it hits the big screens.

News say he died of drug overdose, but as of this writing, the cause of death is still to be determined. Here's a video from CBS News.

Heath Ledger will be greatly missed. He was such a young, talented, and promising young actor in his time.

Very sad. His poor daughter will now grow up without her daddy.

so very sad, all of my friends and family are planning to stop by his building and place flowers. We are so upset about what happened. Such a talent. I feel sorry for Matilda, no one should grow up without knowing a parent

{{{HUGS!}}} The autopsy report was inconclusive. I'm glad it wasn't a for sure overdose. Heath was a great actor and will be missed. What a sad moment in time.

Hugs, JJ
