We've been talking about putting Gabriel on speech therapy. Well, he's only two years old but he should have at least "mommy" or "daddy" in his vocabulary by now. But he hasn't even uttered those simple baby words yet. So we were very worried. You know how when you go to a playdate, or the mall playground and you strike a conversation with another parent, and they have this child younger than your own and their child already speaks..and then you get a little jealous, and worried, and anxiously thinking "Why is my child (Gabriel) behind?"... you know what I mean? lol, the typical parent that we are...I mean, I don't know about you but I feel this pang of 'guilt' inside me sometimes (a little guilt, not bad..but just a little). And you go, "Oh gosh, I'm a bad mother...I gotta do something", and so on and so forth, lol. :)
So today we finally met with the person from the ECI (spells Early Childhood Intervention) and met with an EIS (Early Intervention Specialist) person named Joy. As usual with everything else you do here in America, tons of papers to sign and a gazillion of questions to answer, lol..but really, I didn't mind. As long as it really helps him (we hope) talk, who cares? :)
So this has been the highlight of the day...we'll see what happens.
