"This is her third post on her blog in one day???!"...well okay, not trying to be defensive here, lol...but..hubby is out doing one of his left-over work today. So yes, this is one of those rare, laidback Saturdays where I can play catch up with emails, start a blog(!lol), and wake up late...good thing the kids woke up late too! :)
Okay, so I was going to share about how my day went yesterday..well, I got to eat Pinakbet and Pritong Isda (fried fish)..which has been very rare for me since coming to the US eight years ago. Well, this pritong isda, if you can imagine, is complete with "ulo" (head) and "ikog' (Bisaya for "tail")..hehehe...
Well, this is how it happened... and this is why I have joy and pride about having my Fil-Am moms group here in Dallas. I got to meet a kind new friend Loyna Howard and her very down-to-earth mom Nanay Gloria and they live just a mile drive down the road from our new house in Flower Mound! Now how convenient is that??? :) They're really nice Filipino friends from Pampanga. Sometimes they speak their dialect and I have no clue what they're talking about but hey, I don't mind as long as I get to eat Pinoy food once in a while when visiting them, lol (just kidding, Loyna!). :)
So anyways, yes-- Nanay Gloria cooked Pinakbet and Pritong Isda for me! :) Wow, I haven't eaten that big in a long time...daghan kaayu nakaon! (too much to eat!, lol)... sarap na sarap ako, huh?! (yum!)
We (myself, Gabriel, and Jaden) stayed at their house a good 4 hours--chatting all-Filipino stuff, life in America, taking care of little ones..etc, kahit na ano na lang (just anything). Gabriel enjoyed playing with EJ (loyna's 4 yr old son) and another friend Alex's Ivan (2 yr old boy also), so that was an added bonus for me--he gets to have a playdate with other kids too.
Hmmm, that was the highlight of yesterday afternoon...then in the evening, my sweet hubby gave me a few hours to myself.. I went shopping-- to my favorite store Dillard's to get me a new swimsuit! :)

Jocelyn, I'm glad that you enjoyed mom's cooking as much as I do. She was very happy to have company and have adult conversation aside from EJ makulit. Anyway, I'm truly Blessed that mom is here with me.
