Calls and Magazine Subscriptions

We've moved into our current house about 5 months ago and I can tell you right now, my husband and I still get these annoying calls from debt collectors and telemarketers looking for the previous owner of this house. Some days it's okay, but most of the days it really gets into my last nerve when I have to stop what I'm doing to pick up the phone only to tell the caller to "Please delete this number from your list. We are the new owner of this number and we don't know this person you're looking for".

Ugh! I can't tell you how many times I have to do that in one day that I have now started to let the calls go to voicemail, to save me all these annoyances. We don't have a caller ID on our phone so no, I don't know who calls in. I know we should probably get one already!

Anyways, we also still get this previous owner's free magazine subscriptions--such as store magazines like Victoria's Secret (that I don't mind) and Neiman Marcus. But today it was different. We received a doctor's magazine subscription called Gulf Shore Life. It had a cover of a good-looking young guy in doctor's uniform withh some headline about a celebrated Florida plastic surgeon. Hmm, I can only wonder...maybe this previous owner is involved in some medical field (?)..anyways, just wanted to write about this. Since yes, those calls do annoy and take out the better of me on some days. Magazine subscriptions are alright, although I still end up throwing them away after browsing through them shortly. I have a few of my own magazine subscriptions I can't keep up reading as it is. :)

That drives me batty when that happens. I have had the same phone number for almost 9 years and I still get calls for people that don't live here.
