Get Paid To Blog At Smorty.com |
If you are a blogger like me, chances are, you are looking for ways to make money off of your blog.
There are lots of ways to get paid for blogging and one of them is by writing reviews and short articles about many different advertisers. Basically, what you do is to apply as a paid blogger for 'get paid to blog' sites. These sites reviews your blog then sends you an email if your blog gets accepted or declined. Most of these paid blogging sites accept blogs that have good, unique content, are at least 90 days old, indexed by Google, and have at least a page rank of 1 or more. Your blog must not have any kind of hate-related, violence, or adult content. When your blog is accepted, you either receive advertising campaign emails from the paid blogging network site or you can look up available campaigns or assignments by logging in to your own account at the site. It is up to you to accept or decline it.
Smorty is one of these paid blogging network sites that connects advertisers with bloggers. Advertisers pay bloggers to write opinions and articles about their products, services, or website offerings. The great benefits these advertisers get from using a blogging network like Smorty is that they can increase their website traffic and boost their rankings on major search engines. Why? When bloggers write their opinions about an advertiser, it creates a link back to the advertisers' website. This is the beauty of blog advertising.
So now you have the answer to your big question: How do you get paid by advertisers to talk about them on your blog? Simple. Just go to www.smorty.com and sign up to become one of their paid bloggers.
It's free and easy to set up a blog account with Smorty. Once they approve your blog, they will then send you an email of new available campaigns describing the tasks and deadlines. As soon as your opinion is posted, there is a link on the email to enter your posts detail for review. You will then be paid if your post is approved.
Each advertiser opinion article that you write must be unique and be relevant to the campaign subject assigned. Usually, advertisers prefer for you to write positive opinions, rather than negative, which is usually disputed and will affect approval or rejection of your post.
Smorty pays weekly by Paypal and accepts bloggers worldwide that has English language content. So if you're ready to blog for money, go check out Smorty.com and sign up as a paid blogger now.

Calls and Magazine Subscriptions |
We've moved into our current house about 5 months ago and I can tell you right now, my husband and I still get these annoying calls from debt collectors and telemarketers looking for the previous owner of this house. Some days it's okay, but most of the days it really gets into my last nerve when I have to stop what I'm doing to pick up the phone only to tell the caller to "Please delete this number from your list. We are the new owner of this number and we don't know this person you're looking for".
Ugh! I can't tell you how many times I have to do that in one day that I have now started to let the calls go to voicemail, to save me all these annoyances. We don't have a caller ID on our phone so no, I don't know who calls in. I know we should probably get one already!
Anyways, we also still get this previous owner's free magazine subscriptions--such as store magazines like Victoria's Secret (that I don't mind) and Neiman Marcus. But today it was different. We received a doctor's magazine subscription called Gulf Shore Life. It had a cover of a good-looking young guy in doctor's uniform withh some headline about a celebrated Florida plastic surgeon. Hmm, I can only wonder...maybe this previous owner is involved in some medical field (?)..anyways, just wanted to write about this. Since yes, those calls do annoy and take out the better of me on some days. Magazine subscriptions are alright, although I still end up throwing them away after browsing through them shortly. I have a few of my own magazine subscriptions I can't keep up reading as it is. :)

La Jolla, California |
My husband's mother side of the family lives in Los Angeles, California. Once in a while we take a trip there to visit and sight-see other surrounding areas.
After dinner last night, my husband and I talked about visiting L.A. again one weekend this December and possibly visit this quaint little Christmas town in California called Solvang. This was one of the few little stops we did on our Las Vegas honeymoon in November 2003. I love this little Dutch-inspired town! It feeds that little girl in me who loves everything Christmas--colorful lights, Santa Claus, Christmas trees, snow-covered houses, you name it! Everything Christmas you will find in Solvang! :)
So besides Solvang, another place I want to visit is La Jolla, also in California. I have never been there, but a friend told me it is a beautiful place to check out. My husband and I love trying out new cuisines when we visit a new place. An eat out at a restaurant in La Jolla might be one of the highlights of the day if we do go there.
Ugh! lots of things to do, so little time (and money!). But I guess, I can express my thoughts about it, and who knows? Some people say some of our thoughts might actually come true. I know I need a little vacation, so it would really be nice... :)

Appearance-conscious |
A few days ago, I saw an episode on Oprah about fairly beautiful women wanting to go through different types of cosmetic surgery to enhance a certain feature on their faces. One of the women featured on the show was a 25 year old young woman from an Asian-American descent whose nose looked normal and fine to me, but she seem to fret about it and was talking about how insecure she is all her life because she had a 'big nose'.
So then this woman talked about going through a rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job. A cosmetic surgeon from a San Diego nose surgery clinic was then interviewed to talk about what a rhinoplasty surgery involves. Of course, there were a lot of women in Oprah's audience who expressed their opposition on going through cosmetic procedures to enhance one's appearance.
I for one, was amazed about this one particular woman who has unfounded insecurities about her appearance. She could be a confident woman, if only she stops being so appearance-conscious and focus more on her strong points-- such as being a successful lawyer who has her own practice, and having a lot of friends and family who surrounds her.

She's loving the night life! |
A friend of mine from Houston recently moved to San Diego to be closer to family and also study to be a nurse. From time to time we email each other and talk about our lives. I can't forget the thoughtfulness of this friend as she is the one who planned the baby shower for me for my first-born Gabriel back in 2005, when we still live in Houston.
So anyways, a few days ago I received an email from her telling me how she's loving it in San Diego. She had made new friends there and she said she'd forgotten about having a night life until she got there. She's loving her night life in San Diego. In her email, she attached San Diego night life photos of her and her friends. She really looked like she's having fun. I'm glad to hear from my friend again.

Michelle Pfeiffer |
One of my favorite American movie actresses is Michelle Pfeiffer. Not only she is beautiful, she is also a great actor. I can't tell you how many movies I've seen with her as the leading actor. I love her movies. She was great in the classic "The Witches Of Eastwick", and she was just outstanding on the last movie I saw with her and Harrison Ford on "What Lies Beneath".
Anyways, last night I saw her on a live interview on one of those newer late night TV shows like Jay Leno's (the name of the show escapes my mind right now). But I didn't recognize her as she looked different, like she had some kind cosmetic surgery done on her face. I usually don't like seeing women who look so fake and well made-up from too much Botox or facial surgeries. But on Michelle actually she looked more radiant.
One time I saw Katie Couric on TV interviewing a leading cosmetic surgeon who practices cosmetic surgey in Manhattan, NY. In the interview, the surgeon talked about the many procedures that can be done to make one's skin appear more youthful. It's amazing how many things they can do to your physical appearance nowadays, if you are willing and have the money. :)

Looking Into Baby Carriers |
I came across a really good website for user reviews on a wide range of consumer products, such as home electronics, computers, health and beauty, and even kids and baby products, called www.wize.com.
Of course, the first thing I checked out was the kids and baby product reviews, particularly the Baby Carrier reviews. A friend is going to have a baby in December and I was looking into getting her a baby carrier as a gift. The reviews listed 51 products, each ranked as weak, average, or strong in terms of how many users love it. So now, I can't decide which baby carrier I am going to get, after reading these Baby Carrier reviews.
You know how people say that you should stick to the products that have already been tested and recommended to you by your family or friends. I think that these Baby Carrier reviews helped me a bit in educating myself with what kind of baby carriers are there in the market today. I will have to still ask around, research, compare, and eventually decide on something that I think would be useful, practical, and yet not too hard on the pocketbooks. :)

Nashville, TN |
My husband and I have been talking about visiting a new place/state in the U.S. that we've never been to. We have a couple ideas in mind about places to visit.
I've always wanted to visit Nashville, TN. I don't know about you, but I'm fascinated with comboy stuff. I'm not into country music too much. Although I have a few favorite country music artists.
Anyways, I read a little bit about this fascinating U.S. city. and I found out a few things online about it. Did you know that they are not only famous for hot country music and that they are home to some of the famous celebrities? People also go there to find affordable cosmetic surgery. So if you're thinking about getting an affordable cosmetic procedure done, you might want to check out a Nashville plastic surgery clinic, then feel like you're a celebrity yourself. :)

Ruth, Our German Friend |
A recent TV ad on New York hair transplants reminded me of our friend from Germany named Ruth. She came here in the U.S. as an exchange teacher and worked as a public school teacher for a local ISD in Houston, Texas where we (hubby and I) met her. She's now back to her home country, got married there and she has now a three year old son. We email one another from time to time.
I know. You think, "why hair transplants"? LOL. Well, she had problems with thinning hair at the time we were hanging out with her. She always wanted to have thicker hair and even thought about getting a hair transplant done. I just thought of her when I saw the TV ad this morning, that's all. ;)

Diet Thoughts... |
So I am serious about losing weight these days. I still got about 20 lbs to lose, since my now seven month old baby boy was born. So I went and bought the South Beach diet book and also their recipe book on Amazon last week. It came in the mail yesterday and now I am studying the recipes. A friend had recommended it to me, whose husband lost 50 lbs using the diet for a few months. I got inspired. So I'm going to try.
Ugh! I know it's going to be a challenge. I don't know. I just love food a lot now. I think I'm stress eating too and I know this is not good. I have to find other ways to turn to when I am stressed, besides thinking of food, LOL.
Sometimes I wish I'm rich though. I could just go to a famous Beverly Hills liposuction surgery clinic like the celebrities and rich people do and wham! it's gone. I don't have to work too much, LOL (that's the lazy me talking). It's really my belly pouch that's a big problem right now. I probably won't look too bad without it. ;)

Thoughts On Owning A Pet Dog..Might, Someday... |
We don't own a dog, but my family used to own one. Now that I have a family of my own, I am looking into owning at least one. I don't know when, but it is possible. Right now, it's probably a little impossible as I know owning a dog will probably take some of my time each day. Plus, my husband and I like to take road trips, sometimes short distances, other times longer. So it might be a little bit of a challenge trying to fit in two kids in the car, then a dog.
Of course, there are dog kennels available now in pet grooming and boarding facilities where you can leave your dog when you're on vacation. That might be of a better choice for us in that situation. Okay, just a thought. ;)

I'm Back! |
Whew, I know...I've been slacking off with my blogging these past few days. But now I'm ready to get back to the swing of things! :)
Anyways, to start off I woke up pretty early this morning, around 6AM. I usually make my coffee first which I did, and go open my laptop and check my emails. But this morning, I chose to turn on the TV, and sat lazily infront of my couch while sipping my morning coffee. I love these moments when the kids are still fast asleep, and I could do whatever or finish any leftover 'need-to-do' things from the day before. ;)
So then, back to my story. So I saw this Fit TV show about Hatha yoga exercises this morning. The woman doing the exercises looked very serene, calm, and relaxed. The Hatha yoga exercises, seem to me, are slower-paced, gentler form of yoga that might be good for beginners.
It made me think of my kid-free days when I was still dating my husband about four years ago in Houston (Texas), when I used to go to this Jewish yoga center for simple yoga exercises. I used to do it twice a week, after my usual 8-5 work and it made me feel very relaxed and refreshed. Ugh, I wish I could find time to do that again (sigh). I know... it's wishful thinking. ;)

Gap Auto Insurance Policy On Advantage Auto Quotes |
It is a well-known fact that cars lose their value as soon as they are driven off the lot, but many consumers do not realize that a car can lose as much as 20 percent of its value immediately.
If you've recently bought a new car and put down less than 20% downpayment, you've probably been offered by the car dealership to add a Gap Auto Insurance Policy to your regular auto insurance policy. GAP coverage is offered and designed especially for new car purchases and can be a real lifesaver. For example, let's say that you purchased a car for $25,000. If you total that car while you still owe $20,000, then you might think that your insurance company is going to cover the $20,000. The truth is, that they are only going to pay out what the current value of the car. So if it is only worth $17,000 due to immediate depreciation, you are then responsible for paying the remaining $3,000 on a car that you don't even have. This is unreasonable and can be easily avoided with a Gap insurance policy. This type of insurance policy tries to correct this situation by covering the "gap" between what you owe and what the car is worth.
Most dealerships offer Gap Insurance policies to consumers but are often costly. To avoid spending too much when considering to get this type of auto policy, consider using a quoting service so you can compare rates offered by the major auto policy insurers. At Advantage Auto Quotes, they can work with consumers to find the cheapest available Gap Coverage For New Vehicle. They use insurance agencies like Allstate, AIG, Liberty Mutual, and Nationwide, to find you the best rates out there.
