Hello, my dear blogging friends!
This week has just been again, super busy for me. But I'm managing okay and I've actually been feeling more energized than before. Maybe because I had a great July 4th holiday weekend. ;)
So on July 4th, Dan and I stayed at the St Regis Hotel Washington, D.C. just two blocks from the White House and stayed there for the night. The hotel was one of those elegant, old-world style hotel. Their room rates start at $400 a night and we stayed on the deluxe one that's like $800 per night. But guess what, we didn't pay for it. Why? Dan gets these free hotel perks from one of his business reward cards. Whew, we certainly don't have $800 to spend on a luxury hotel, so it works great for us all the time! :)
Anyway, we've been wanting to do this for a while so I have a chance to tour Washington D.C. without rushing to go home and fight the traffic. As you know, D.C. is only about an hour away from where we live in Woodbridge, Virginia. But the traffic is quite horrible getting home, especially on holidays. And since we were both "kid-free" for the weekend, what perfect timing to go to D.C. than on the July 4th holiday weekend! ;)
Anyway, all day on July 4th my honey and I just roamed around Washington D.C. We took a lot of photos of the White House and other historical buildings, monuments and statues (a few photos shown here). We both enjoyed our little weekend getaway and we even had a perfect spot to watch the fireworks in between the Washingtton Monument and the Lincoln Memorial- two of the most popular spots in D.C. :)
How did your 4th go? Please share! :)

How Was Your Weekend? |
So how did you all spend your Mother's Day weekend?
Mine went like this:
Saturday: Me, my sweety (Dan), his eleven year old son (Jordan), and three of Dan's soccer buddies went to see the D.C. United (the major league soccer team for Washington DC) play with Toronto FC. It was a first-time for me to see a D.C. United game so I was so excited. They had a tie with Toronto FC- but we thought D.C. United is going to lose. So we were glad they didn't. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but both Dan and his son play soccer on their own. Dan keeps himself fit playing soccer twice a week and I've started liking soccer more since the first time I watched him play. His son also plays for his school soccer team. Anyway, I had fun at the game. We brought our grilling machine for yummy burgers and had a few beers. I am not a big beer drinker, but I drunk like one and a half beers the whole time we were hanging out at the parking lot before the game started. I had a blast the whole time! :)
Sunday: The whole morning was spent running errands. Then in the afternoon, Dan and I took my little boys Gabriel and Jaden to the park and hanged out there for about two hours. We were going to stop somewhere for dinner afterwards but the boys were already very tired and sleepy after playing so much in the park and being under the sun for a while. The weather was perfect and we took a lot of pictures with Dan's new super-cool Nikon D60 camera. I've posted a few of our pics here. Hope you like them.
Anyway, I gotta go read up a bit on wireless alarm. Later...

How Was Thanksgiving? |
Hello dear friends,
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Mine was great. You know why? Two great things happened to me this week. First, I got offered a job at one of the leading health insurance company in the U.S. I won't mention the name- but I am very, very thankful for it! And I am very excited to go back into the work force again. People who know me know I haven't really worked for a long time- 3.5 years to be exact.
So I've been trying to get a full-time job outside from home since September when I came back from my three month vacation in the Philippines. Whew! For a while I was starting to get really frustrated. Jobs in Virginia are not in plenty and when I almost got a job that I liked in downtown Washington D.C., I missed the opportunity for a second interview because I didn't have enough time to look for someone to look after my boys. Isn't that sad? I mean, some days it is tough when you don't have family or friends near by to help yu out in times like those.
Anyways, the new job I was offered was something I have been doing for five years so no big deal doing it. And then the salary and benefits are amazing. So please wish me luck on this new job, dear friends.
Oh well, the second great thing that happened to me this week- I did my first Black Friday sale shopping yesterday. Yes, my first ever! The crowd wasn't really bad at my favorite store and I was glad I was able to find some nice deals on new clothes I can wear at the new job and winter clothes for the boys. I even got me two new winter shoes and I love them!
There goes my Thanksgiving holiday so far. Today I think we're going to do some sight-seeing in Washington D.C. and neighboring cities/towns. I look forward to a wonderful weekend with my family.
Share your own Thanksgiving or most recent accomplishment by leaving your comment. Thanks and you all have a great weekend! :D

Make a free ecard - it's easy! |
To all my blogging friends and to everyone who loves reading my blog:
Hope this day will be wonderful to you all!
What are you doing to celebrate your Valentine's Day?
If you all ask me, dear hubby just left this morning for an out-of-town work travel and won't be back 'til tomorrow. But, this coming Saturday night we're having a nice Coupes Night Out date with some friends from the moms group so that should be exciting! :)
Today will be all about spending time with my kids. We'll probably go to the mall to let my toddler play at the mall playground, go to the Disney store, and treat myself with Starbucks coffee and maybe some cute top. LOL, since I don't have my husband might as well enjoy this day with my kids, right? I mean evryday is like V-DAy with my kids. I treat them with my tender, loving mother care all the time! ;)
So c'mon, share here what this special day is going to be like for you. :)

Valentine's Day Gifts |
Hmmm, now that Valentine's Day is coming up, I am now starting to think of a gift I can give my husband. I'm thinking to get him something he can wear for work.
As for me, I'd just be happy with flowers. There are many different flowers for valentines, but my most favorite flowers of all are roses, particularly pink roses. I would love to get a bunch of pink roses in a beautiful vase from my husband on Valentine's Day, just like the one pictured here from 1800flowers.com. :)
